NI: Ashers bakery appeal pushed back three months
The appeal by Ashers Bakery Company against a high-profile discrimination ruling has been adjourned for three months.
The Court of Appeal heard at a short hearing this morning that the appeal would be pushed back to allow an intervention by the Attorney General for Northern Ireland to be considered.
Attorney General John Larkin QC raised a potential conflict between Northern Ireland equality legislation and European human rights laws.
The Lord Chief Justice, Declan Morgan, said it was unfortunate that the issue was only raised two days before the hearing.
The case has been relisted for Monday 9 May 2016.
