Ballymun Community Law Centre appoints new manager
Ballymun Community Law Centre has named Ciara Murray as its new manager.
Ms Murray previously held positions at the Irish National Organisation of the Unemployed (INOU) and Comhairle, now the Citizens Information Board.
She has over twenty years of experience in advice work, training and development, has worked as a freelance consultant since 2002, and also lectures in social and economic rights at Dublin City University.
Born in the US and educated in the US, England and Saudi Arabia, she commenced a Diploma in Legal Studies at Honorable Society of King’s Inns in September 2017.
Catherine Hickey, chairperson of the Law Centre, said: “We are delighted to welcome Ciara Murray as Manager. Ciara brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise alongside a passion for community law provision. Ciara will be to the forefront in ensuring the right resources are in place to continue the vital work of the Centre in Ballymun.”
Ms Murray added: “I am honoured to be joining the Law Centre and look forward to working with my colleagues to serve the legal needs of the Ballymun community.
“The Law Centre is a free, expert legal service and available to all. I encourage anyone needing advice to contact us. We are here to help.”
Ballymun Community Law Centre was established in 2002 and has independent law centre status from the Law Society of Ireland.
The Centre offers legal representation and advocacy, including Court and Tribunal Representation in areas of law not covered by the civil legal aid scheme. It also provides a legal education programme, a mediation service and training in mediation skills.
