Ballymun Community Law Centre welcomes solicitor Paul Dornan
Ballymun Community Law Centre has appointed Paul Dornan as a new community solicitor.
Previously working in Mercy Law Resource Centre and the Legal Aid Board, Mr Dornan is experienced in advising and advocating in the areas of social housing and homelessness law as well as family and childcare law.
In his role as community solicitor, Mr Dornan will be available to the people of Ballymun for legal advice, information and representation. He will also provide law talks and legal training in the community.
The law centre has seen an 80 per cent increase in demand for its services in recent years, and in particular a rise in legal advice sought in relation to housing issues and employment issues.
Catherine Hickey, chairperson at Ballymun Community Law Centre, said: “We are delighted to welcome Paul Dornan as our community solicitor. Paul brings a wealth of experience and a passion for community law provision; he will be at the forefront of the vital work of the law centre in Ballymun.”
Mr Dornan added: “I am honoured to have joined the team at the Ballymun Community Law Centre as a solicitor.
“The centre has a real commitment to empowering the community of Ballymun to exercise their rights and entitlements and in working to achieve social justice and equality.
