Bar of Northern Ireland pick Dementia NI as 2025 charity partner

The Bar of Northern Ireland has named Dementia NI as its charity partner for 2025.

The charity committee has kicked off its calendar of fundraising events with a coffee morning at the Bar Library.

Laura King BL, chair of the Bar’s charity committee, said: “The Bar is committed to giving back to the community and we are excited to work in partnership with Dementia NI in the year ahead.

“Many of our members have experienced the pain and difficulty of coping with a diagnosis of dementia within their own families so this will be a cause close to their hearts.

“We have no doubt they will show the unfaltering support they are renowned for in supporting our programme of events.”

Dementia NI was founded in 2015 by five people living with a diagnosis of dementia to enable them to have their voices heard and improve dementia services for themselves and others.

Clare Watson, the charity’s CEO, said: “We are delighted to have been selected as the Bar’s charity partner for 2025.

“This year also marks Dementia NI’s 10th birthday, and we are looking forward to an exciting year of activities ahead, working with the Bar Library to raise vital funds and awareness of Dementia NI.”

Fundraising events taking place over the course of the year will include taking part in the Belfast City Marathon, family fun days and a gala ball.
