NI: Barrister Gillian McGaughey to serve on NIGALA board for further 12 months
Barrister Gillian McGaughey BL will serve as a non-executive member of the Northern Ireland Guardian Ad Litem Agency (NIGALA) for a further 12 months.
Health Minister Robin Swann today announced the 12-month extension to the terms of two members from 1 February 2021 to a date not later than 31 January 2022.
The NIGALA board is made up of six members, comprising the chief executive, a non-executive chair and four non-executive members, of which Ms McGaughey is the legal member.
Ms McGaughey is the education and training officer for The Bar of Northern Ireland. Prior to taking up her current post, she practised as a barrister specialising in family and child law and lectured at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies (IPLS).
