Barrister remanded in custody after murder charge
Barrister and law lecturer Diarmuid Phelan SC has been remanded in custody after appearing in court on a single charge of murder.
The 53-year-old lawyer is accused of murdering 36-year-old Keith Conlon, who was shot on farmland in Tallaght last Tuesday and died on Thursday.
Mr Phelan was charged on Thursday night after Mr Conlon’s death and appeared at Tallaght District Court on Friday morning, The Irish Times reports.
Judge Patricia McNamara remanded him in custody until the next hearing at Cloverhill District Court this Friday 4 March.
