NI: Belfast Solicitors’ Association to host quiz night for spina bifida charity
The Belfast Solicitors’ Association (BSA) is hosting a quiz night in April to raise cash for spina bifida charity SHINE.
SHINE (Spina Bifida, Hydrocephalus, Information, Networking, Equality) is one of the BSA’s chosen charities for 2018.
The quiz takes place on Thursday 19 April, 7.30pm at the Errigle Inn with a £5 donation per person and a maximum of six per team.
Steven Keown, chairperson of the Belfast Solicitors’ Association, told Irish Legal News: “SHINE is a lesser known charity which supports people and families who have had a diagnosis of the conditions (at the 20 week pregnancy scan) and throughout their lives.
“It is a unique charity which offers help on dealing with the diagnosis, early years interventions, advice on living with the condition(s), benefits, educational needs, healthcare etc.
“A small amount of funding is received from the health care trusts to employ support and development workers throughout the country and thereafter SHINE rely on their membership to fundraise.”
