The ABI launched the #MakingFlexibleWork campaign earlier this year with the aim of increasing flexible working, including job-sharing and-part time working, and narrowing the gender seniority gap in the insurance and long-term savings sector.

The Covid-19 pandemic has increased demand for flexible working and research from the Government Equalities Office suggests that nine of out 10 jobseekers want increased flexibility.

Liz Partington, UK-wide people director for BLM, said: “We have long recognised that increased flexible working helps us to attract the best talent possible and can open career opportunities, not just for women but for those with different backgrounds and experiences.

“Joining the ABI’s campaign is one way that we are continuing to develop and maintain our culture of equality, diversity and inclusion for both existing and future talent.

“We are looking forward to working with the team at the ABI to raise awareness of such an important campaign which supports us all in retaining diverse talent, as well as making a difference to reduce the gender seniority gap.”

Yvonne Braun, the ABI’s executive sponsor for diversity and inclusion, said: “The three commitments in the Making Flexible Work Charter will help firms in our sector improve flexible working for everyone and reduce the gender seniority gap at the same time.
