Central Statistics Office suspends publication of crime statistics
The Central Statistics Office (CSO) will not publish any further crime figures until a Garda review into the accuracy of homicide figures is complete, The Irish Times reports.
It is the second time the CSO has suspended the publication of the quarterly statistical publication and the first since concerns were raised over the classification of crimes in 2014.
The Policing Authority requested a report from An Garda Síochána into the accuracy of homicide figures two months ago, but The Irish Times reports that a report has not yet been produced.
The matter will be discussed at a meeting of the Authority tomorrow.
