NI: CFR Law to host business breakfast at Belfast Design Week
Cleaver Fulton Rankin Solicitors are inviting creatives and designers to attend a business breakfast event taking place as part of Belfast Design Week 2016.
The firm is hosting the fringe event on Friday 11 November at the Thinking Cup, Belfast.
It will offer entrepreneurs and those working within creative and marketing industries the opportunity to hear from industry experts on the importance of ensuring brilliant ideas are adequately protected.
Associate solicitor Michael King will deliver a workshop on intellectual property protection and answer questions.
Mr King said: “We’re thrilled to be hosting this business breakfast with Belfast Design Week. IP can be something overlooked and then unfortunately it becomes too late to protect an idea.
“Northern Ireland has a rich creative industry but in this digital age, inventors are more exposed to idea theft more than ever, at this event we hope to at the very least bring attention to this.”
Karishma Kusurkar of Belfast Design Week added: “As designers we are often conditioned to using the right-hand side of the brain, focusing on aesthetics and ergonomics, and sometimes preparing for worst-case scenarios like IP infringement takes a backseat, especially for independent professionals.
“We believe events like Designer Breakfast are important for raising awareness of such subjects and hopefully prompting delegates to allocate time to putting cautionary measures in place for their businesses.”
The Designer Breakfast event is free to attend and admission includes breakfast. For further information and to RSVP visit www.belfastdesignweek.com.
