Chief State Solicitor’s Office launches student essay competition
The Chief State Solicitor’s Office (CSSO) has launched a student essay competition with a €500 prize.
The competition is open to undergraduate and postgraduate law students at any third-level institution on the island of Ireland.
The essay title is: “The Irish Courts have demonstrated that the Irish Constitution is a living document which evolves in line with societal developments and values. Discuss whether you agree or disagree and support your position with relevant case law from within the past ten years.”
The essay may be submitted in English or as Gaeilge, and must not exceed 2,000 words excluding footnotes and references.
The top three entrants will be invited to the Chief State Solicitor’s Office for a prize-giving reception. The first place winner will receive a €500 cash prize, with €250 for second place and €150 for third place.
The deadline for submissions is Friday 5 April 2024, 5pm.
