Claire Edgar to chair Belfast domestic abuse working group
Family lawyer Claire Edgar has been appointed as chair of the Belfast Area Domestic & Sexual Violence and Abuse Partnership’s protection and justice working group.
The partnership brings together agencies, organisations, groups and individuals who share a common interest and purpose in improving services and support for all victims of domestic and sexual violence and abuse.
The protection and justice working group is made up of individuals representing organisations who regularly interface with victims of domestic violence including social services, the Northern Ireland Courts and Tribunals Service, trade unions, housing agencies, PSNI, PPS, solicitors and barristers.
Ms Edgar, a partner at Francis Hanna & Co Solicitors, said: “I am delighted to chair the protection and justice working group whose purpose is to support and advocate for victims of domestic abuse.
“I hope that all the agencies involved will continue to work collaboratively together in the interests of all victims.
“The dedication of the other members of the partnership is a source of real inspiration to me and we work together to use our collective skills and voice to stand up for the most vulnerable members of our society.”
