The law firm launched its charity initiative only five years ago to raise vital funds for the local community in Northern Ireland. The firm has since supported Cancer Focus, the Alzheimer’s Society, The Prince’s Trust, Northern Ireland Hospice and Macmillan Cancer Support.

All fundraising activities have been organised through Cleaver Fulton Rankin’s dedicated Charity Committee, supported by the firm’s staff, their families and business associates of the firm. In order to support valuable local projects, Cleaver Fulton Rankin organised various fundraising events including a ‘Euro’ inspired CFR 5-A-Side Football Tournament, A Night at the Races, Bond and Ghostbusters Cinema Nights and Cycle Spin-a-thons. Individuals across the firm have also undertaken marathons, cycle challenges, and various other endurance style events to raise money.

On the back of another successful year, in which the firm raised over £15,500 for Macmillan Cancer Support, Cleaver Fulton Rankin will be supporting Barnardo’s throughout 2017 and will be raising money for valuable services including the Young Carers service and Family Resource Centres which will benefit the local community throughout Northern Ireland.

We are both long-established organisations with close links to the local community, so I think we will have much to build on. Our aim in the partnership with Cleaver Fulton Rankin is that both organisations will benefit and that ultimately we will be able to support those children and young people who need us the most.”

“Our Family Resource Centres offer support for families with children up to the age of 12 who are experiencing some form of family difficulty. We provide parenting education and support and assessment. While our two Early Intervention services provide support for families with children aged 0 -18 years in their own homes.

“Our Young Carer’s Service supports children and young people who help care for a parent or sibling. We can provide one-to-one support, or perhaps work with their school to put support arrangements in place or we can provide social outlets as it’s important they have the same opportunity as other young people to be with their friends and enjoy new experiences.”

In addition to its nominated Charity of the Year Initiative, Cleaver Fulton Rankin has also supported other charitable causes with which staff and client contacts have close affiliations. Friends of the Cancer Centre, Simon Community, Haven’s Rally for Haiti, the North and West Belfast Branch of the National Autistic Society are just a few good causes for which staff and contacts have fundraised, which thanks to its CSR strategy, Cleaver Fulton Rankin has been able to support either financially, or in kind.
