NI: Cleaver Fulton Rankin team triumphs in rugby competition
Belfast firm Cleaver Fulton Rankin triumphed in the Tag Rugby Spring League final last week.
A dedicated team of both male and female staff at the firm took part in the Spring League matches, organised by the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU), every Wednesday night for six weeks.
They went on to win in the final against their bitter rivals.
Solicitor Adam Leitch, captain of the team, said: “The Spring League reached a dramatic finale last week as Cleaver Fulton Rankin triumphed over arch rivals Baker & McKenzie.
“Our team knew it would be another tough encounter against the side that had narrowly beaten us the previous week.
“We were however, challenged from very start, and Bakers recorded a try in the first minute.
“The team regrouped, fought back and scored a few tries of our own. The game was close, with the lead switching many times.
“Right up to the final whistle, Bakers threw everything they had at our line, but the Cleaver Fulton Rankin team fought back and took the match 20-17.
“I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone who played on the team and made it a fun and worthwhile event for all.”
