NI: Co Down solicitor admits defrauding former clients of up to £400,000
Co Down solicitor Elaine Mary Early has admitted defrauding former clients to the tune of up to £400,000, the Belfast Telegraph reports.
Ms Early yesterday pleaded guilty to 12 counts of fraud by abusing her position as a solicitor and five counts of transferring criminal property.
An additional charge of theft has been dropped by prosecutors.
The offences are all alleged to have been committed between September 2014 and February 2016.
Ms Early set up her own firm, Elaine Early & Co. Solicitors, in August 2000 and was practising there at the time.
She will be sentenced by Belfast Crown Court on Monday 12 November.
