Coroner Terence Casey retires at 70

Terence Casey, coroner for South and East Kerry, retired over the weekend, the Irish Examiner reports.

Mr Casey, a solicitor, became deputy coroner in 1994 and later became full-time coroner.

Turning 70 on Saturday, Mr Casey presided in Killarney Coroner’s Court for the last time on Friday.

He was paid tributes by gardaĆ­, the jury, Kerry County Council and a representative from the National Union of Journalists.
