Galway-based Nortev acquired by PARI

Galway-based Nortev, a manufacturer of nebulisers for horses and companion animals, has been acquired by PARI, a German-headquartered manufacturer of medical devices and pharmaceuticals in the field of respiratory and inhalation.

ReganWall advised the shareholders of Nortev on the transaction while Taylor Wessing advised the buyers.

Nortev is the manufacturer of the equine nebuliser Flexineb and distributes its products worldwide to over 30 countries in Europe, North America, Australia and the Middle East.

The ReganWall team was led by partner Adrian Wall and associate Sarah Connolly.

The Taylor Wessing team was led by managing partner Adam Griffiths.

VetPartners acquires three veterinary practices

VetPartners has acquired Riverview Veterinary Group in Cork, Avondale Veterinary Hospital in Wicklow, and All Creatures Veterinary Group in Monaghan.

Beauchamps advised VetPartners on the acquisitions. BHSM LLP advised the shareholders of Avondale. The other advisers are not known.

The acquisitions double the number of VetPartners’ practices in Ireland from three to six and create a strong foundation for the group in the country.

The BHSM team advising Avondale was made up of corporate lawyers Joe McVeigh and Sinéad Mannion in and commercial real estate lawyer Keith Doyle.

Management buy-out at Lumenia Consulting

Lumenia Consulting has been acquired by three senior management team members following a successful management buy-out (MBO).

RDJ LLP advised the company on the MBO, which saw founder Sean Jackson sell the business to Ian O’Toole, John Donagher and Ursula Browne, who become the new managing partners.

Lumenia is an independent ERP consulting organisation, specialising in business transformation through the implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning and related enterprise software applications.

The RDJ transaction team included corporate and commercial lawyers JP Gilmartin, Conor Moran and Scion Flanagan and banking lawyer Peter McGarvey.

Bluedrop Medical raises €10.5m in funding round

Galway-based medtech company Bluedrop Medical has raised €10.5 million in a funding round.

RDJ LLP advised Bluedrop Medical on the funding round, while LK Shields Solicitors LLP and Flynn O’Driscoll LLP advised the investors.

The funding round was led by Atlantic Bridge and Elkstone, with the European Innovation Council Fund, Furthr VC, Western Development Commission, Ascentifi and HBAN’s MedTech and Irrus Investments syndicates also backing the company.

The RDJ transaction team included partner Marie Gavin and solicitor April Byrne in the firm’s corporate and commercial team.

Emmet Scully and Kris O’Shea from LK Shields advised Atlantic Bridge University Fund II and Elkstone Ireland Venture Fund Limited.

Flynn O’Driscoll partner Diann Cannon and trainee solicitor Jéssica Lazzari, both in the corporate and commercial team, advised Furthr VC, Western Development Commission, Ascentifi and HBAN’s MedTech and Irrus Investments syndicates.
