Deborah Wheeler BL
Tributes have been paid to barrister Deborah Wheeler, one of Ireland’s leading conveyancing experts, who has passed away.
Ms Wheeler, who called to The Bar of Ireland in 1977 after studying at TCD and the King’s Inns, edited the definitive collection of Irish conveyancing precedents in the 1990s and lectured extensively until her retirement.
Paying tribute on Twitter, James Lawless, barrister and TD for Kildare North, said her “complex lectures, from feudal title to fee tail, from ‘leases for lives renewable forever’ to ‘equity’s darling’, [were] fascinating and akin to a summer school seminar”.
