Dentons hires banking and finance partner Siobhan Carlin
Dentons has announced the recruitment of Siobhan Carlin as a banking and finance partner in its Dublin office.
Ms Carlin will join the firm in October from William Fry, where she is currently a partner.
She specialises in real estate investment and development finance as well as project finance transactions, with her clients spanning financial institutions, alternative lenders, sponsors, private equity houses, institutional investors and semi-state entities.
Linklaters-trained and also dual-qualified, Ms Carlin has been involved in advising on financings to funds as well as domestic and cross-border corporate lending transactions, debt restructurings and a number of loan portfolio acquisitions and financings.
Paul Jarvis, Dentons’ UK, Ireland and Middle East CEO, said: “Siobhan’s recruitment is consistent with our vision for Dublin, which has been identified as a specific area of growth in our new five year strategy.
“She is a leading practitioner in her field, and offers clients seniority and reputation combined with the reach of the world’s largest law firm. Her arrival will add to the first-class stable of legal talent we have established in Dublin - a team which now regularly competes for and wins high value work against the best of Ireland’s domestic and international firms.”
Dentons now has 11 partners in Dublin, having recently welcomed Karyn Harty as its head of litigation as well as partners Colm Ó hUiginn, David McGuinness and Michael McDonald earlier this year.
Eavan Saunders, Ireland managing partner, said: “In just two years we have built the most dynamic and progressive legal offering in Ireland that is consistently operating at the upper end of the market.
“Our strategy of bringing in the right people, who are attracted by the opportunity to further their careers in a global law firm, has been a major factor in our success. We are a firm that is not short on ambition and are making our presence felt by advising on some of the biggest transactions in the Irish market.”
Dentons’ UKIME banking and finance divisional leader Paul Holland added: “Siobhan will significantly increase our banking and finance bench strength in Ireland and bolster the UKIME region’s wider real estate and project finance offering. We look forward to welcoming her to our partnership.”
