Disgraced ex-judge makes €233k Revenue settlement
Former solicitor and ex-judge Heather Perrin has made a €233,000 settlement with the Revenue Commissioners, the Irish Independent reports.
The latest quarterly list of defaulters shows Ms Perrin’s settlement, which was made on foot of a court-determined penalty.
She paid a penalty of €223,452.86 because of an under-declaration of income tax in the amount of €297,937.15.
Ms Perrin, from Co Dublin, was declared bankrupt last November with debts of over €500,000 owed to the Revenue Commissioners and €572,000 to Ulster Bank.
The former District Court judge is best known as the only judge in Ireland to be jailed for committing a criminal offence.
