DLA Piper has announced that Orla O’Leary and Seán McGrenaghan have been promoted to the firm’s global partnership.
Ms O’Leary joined DLA Piper Ireland in 2022 and focuses on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment and equality laws. She has extensive experience working with both international and domestic clients particularly in the technology, financial services and life science sectors. She is particularly experienced in global outsourcings, complex workplace investigations, large scale redundancies and multi-jurisdictional M&A.
Mr McGrenaghan also joined DLA Piper Ireland in 2022 and is an experienced energy and infrastructure finance lawyer, with a background of acting for sponsors, commercial banks, export credit agencies and development finance institutions. He has advised lenders and sponsors on the financing of large scale renewables projects and portfolios in Ireland and on multi-billion-euro energy and infrastructure projects across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
These promotions follow the recent appointment of Chris Jessup as partner in the firm’s litigation and regulatory practice. Joining on 1 May 2025, he brings deep sector expertise in financial services regulation, particularly advising global payment providers, and will support DLA Piper clients to navigate complex, cross-border regulatory challenges.
Commenting on the partner promotions, country managing partner for DLA Piper in Ireland, David Carthy, said: “We are proud to welcome Orla and Seán to DLA Piper’s global partnership. Since joining in 2022, both have shown outstanding leadership and made a meaningful impact on our business in Ireland.
“They exemplify our commitment to exceptional client service and collaboration, and their promotions are richly deserved. As we continue to expand our presence in Ireland, we remain focused on building a high-performing team with global reach and local strength, meeting the evolving needs of our clients.
“These promotions, alongside the recent appointment of Chris Jessup as partner to our litigation and regulatory practice, underscore the calibre of talent driving our success in Ireland and our commitment to growth in support of our client needs.”
