Dublin courts among the slowest in Ireland
District Court proceedings in Dublin are among the slowest in the country, The Irish Times reports.
New figures from the Courts Service of Ireland show that Dublin had the longest wait - 26 weeks - from receipt of a criminal summons to a scheduled hearing date.
The fastest court, in Tralee, Co Kerry, took eight to 12 weeks.
For civil actions, there was a 17-week waiting time in Dublin between receipt of an application and the date it was listed for hearing.
The highest waiting time was 24 weeks in Sligo, but the average was about eight to 10 weeks.
A spokesperson for the Courts Service said it monitors waiting times and adapts its plans on a rolling basis in reaction to any difficulties.
