Dublin lawyer appointed to advise Trump
Dublin-born lawyer Gail Slater has been appointed to a senior advisory role in the White House by US President Donald Trump.
Ms Slater, a graduate of UCD Sutherland School of Law, is taking up the role of adviser to the US president on technology, telecommunications and cybersecurity, The Irish Times reports.
She is a dual Irish-US citizen, orignially from Dalkey in south Co Dublin, and is believed to be Trump’s only Irish-born staffer.
She has years of experience working on legal and regulatory issues involving the technology sector and previously worked as general counsel at the Internet Association, a tech trade association.
