European Court of Human Rights to launch new factsheets

The factsheets concern case law on the themes of access to the Internet and the freedom to receive and impart information; deprivation of citizenship; legal professional privilege; and accompanied and unaccompanied migrant minors in detention.

They join a catalogue of around 60 factsheets published since 2010, providing a rapid overview of the most relevant cases to a particular topic, regularly updated to reflect developments in its case law.

Many have been translated into various languages, including German, Croatian, Greek, Italian, Polish, Romanian, Russian, Spanish and Turkish.

They aim to contribute to increased awareness about ECtHR judgments among journalists, national authorities and the public in Council of Europe member states, with a view to improving implementation of the European Convention on Human Rights at national level.

One of the key demands of the current reform plans to increase the effectiveness of the ECHR system is for member states to guarantee domestic implementation of the ECHR and its case law.
