Eversheds Sutherland Ireland advises on acquisition of IVF unit
Both Irish- and UK-based lawyers at Eversheds Sutherland have advised on an Australian health company’s conditional acquisition of assets from the NHS Trust.
Virtus Health has arranged to acquire the IVF unit operated by Complete Fertility Clinic at University College Hospital, Southampton.
The transaction represents the strategic purchase of assets from the NHS Trust and is structured by way of an investment into Complete Fertility Limited, the intended acquirer of the IVF clinic. It represents the first substantive investment by the Virtus group into the UK market.
Partner Gavin O’Flaherty, leading the Eversheds Sutherland team, was supported by an extensive team both in Ireland and the UK.
The Irish team included corporate solicitor Amy McDermott and data protection solicitors Marie McGinley and Rosalind Deane.
The UK team was lead by corporate partner Steven Hacking, supported by Owen Llewellyn, Mark Rand, Jessica Saffell, Amanda Smith, Gary Delderfield, Matthew Hanley, Alec Bennett, Jackie Heeds and Dave Hughes.
