NI: Ex-law professor appointed to Northern Ireland Office
A former law professor has been appointed as parliamentary under-secretary of state for Northern Ireland, replacing Kris Hopkins.
Nicholas Bourne, Lord Bourne of Aberystwyth, a member of the House of Lords since 2013, was professor of law at Swansea Law School and taught law at Hong Kong University, the London School of Economics and at Cambridge University.
He was also educated at Cambridge, where he was president of Cambridge University Law Society.
