First ‘right to be forgotten’ case comes before Irish court
The first “right to be forgotten” case in the Irish courts has been heard before Dublin Circuit Civil Court.
The case was brought by politician Mark Savage, challenging the Data Protection Commissioner’s decision that his privacy was not breached by search engine Google’s refusal to remove a link.
Mr Savage wanted the search engine giant to remove a link to a reddit post which describes him as homophobic.
The judgment has been reserved.
