FLAC to host pop-up LGBTQ legal advice clinic at Dublin Pride
Legal rights group FLAC (Free Legal Advice Centres) will host a pop-up advice clinic for the LGBTQ community as part of Dublin Pride 2018.
Eilis Barry, CEO of FLAC, said the pop-up clinic would deliver legal advice “in a safe, queer-positive, non-judgemental and inclusive space for the LBGTQ community”.
The clinic will be based in community and resource centre Outhouse on Capel Street from 7-9pm on Monday 25th June.
Ms Barry said: “FLAC is a human rights organisation that promotes equal access to justice for all and our vision is one where all people have access to legal protections regardless of their sexuality or gender.
“In this clinic, you can ask a question on any area of law and receive basic legal advice from a volunteer lawyer. We are asking for people visiting to bring any documentation or correspondence which might help the lawyer to assist you. The volunteer lawyer will help establish whether there is a legal aspect to your problem, explain what options are open to you and direct you to where you may obtain further assistance where appropriate.
“We are committed to offering both a welcoming and confidential environment for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community when seeking free legal advice.”
