NI: Former executive of Law Society-linked company jailed
The former executive director of a company linked to the Law Society of Northern Ireland has been jailed for a year for stealing £50,000 from two clients.
Appearing in Belfast Crown Court yesterday, Denis William Mackie was jailed by Judge David McFarland after he admitted defrauding clients of Law Society (NI) Financial Advice Ltd.
The company provides financial advice to people who have been referred by members of the legal profession.
The offences took place between September 2012 and June 2014.
Law Society (NI) Financial Advice Ltd. has fully reimbursed the clients affected, and Mr Mackie has repaid the money he defrauded.
