Founding partner at MacCarthy Johnston passes away
Barry MacCarthy, founding partner at MacCarthy Johnston Solicitors in Dublin, has passed away following a battle with cancer.
Mr MacCarthy founded the firm in 2010, having previously been partner in a large Dublin firm and head of corporate at a mid-sized practice.
A fluent French speaker, he was also a founder member of the French-Irish Lawyers Association (FILA).
His practice included mergers and acquisitions, regulatory law, international trade, public procurement, technology law and sports law.
In a statement, MacCarthy Johnston Solicitors said: “Barry had with great fortitude, dignity and humour fought a courageous battle with cancer over the last number of months.
“As a friend and colleague he will be forever missed by those in and associated with the practice.”
The firm reopened yesterday after closing for three days as a mark of respect for its late founder.
