Fundraising by Sellors delivers sensory room for disability charity
An adult services centre run by disability charity Enable Ireland has been fitted out with a sensory room after €15,000 was raised by Keating Connolly Sellors Solicitors.
The “Sellors Sensory Room” consists of a 360-degree electronic hoist to ensure access for all service users, a sensory waterbed, soft play area, tactile surfaces, ambient and fibre optic lighting, bubble tube and projector.
Further works are to be undertaken shortly to install a sensory music system and mural artwork.
The sensory room will be an all-inclusive dedicated space for service users with complex dual disability needs to provide relaxation and enjoyment; stimulate sensory input and facilitate communication and mobility for the service users.
Ronan Hynes, partner at Sellors, said: “We are delighted and extremely proud to see the multi-sensory room almost complete. We hope it will be an invaluable asset to the service users of Enable Ireland and the community for many years to come.
A massive thank you to everyone who has supported our Summit Challenge. Without your support, the installation of the multi-sensory room would simply not have been possible.”
