Gillian Triggs to deliver NIHRC annual human rights lecture
Gillian Triggs, the assistant high commissioner for protection in the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), is to deliver the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission’s annual human rights lecture.
Ms Triggs, a British-Australian human rights lawyer who previously served as president of the Australian Human Rights Commission, oversees UNHCR’s protection work in support of millions of refugees, asylum-seekers, those who have been forcibly displaced within their own country and stateless.
She will deliver the keynote speech at the NIHRC lecture on Wednesday 13 September, 4pm, which will also include an opening address from the Lady Chief Justice, Dame Siobhan Keegan.
The Bar of Northern Ireland is supporting the event, which will be streamed online and worth 1.5 CPD points.
Free registration for the livestream is now open through Eventbrite.
