Herbert Smith Freehills promotes Caoimhe Powell to associate director
Global law firm Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) has promoted Caoimhe Powell to associate director in Belfast.
Ms Powell takes on overall responsibility for HSF’s alternative legal services (ALT) disputes practice across the UK, US and EMEA region.
Since its establishment in 2011, HSF’s ALT office in Belfast has grown from 19 fee earners to over 240 lawyers, technologists and legal analysts today.
Her promotion comes alongside that of her London-based ALT colleague Stephanie Barrett, who takes on responsibility for HSF ALT’s eDiscovery and legal technology practice across the UK, US and EMEA.
Lyn Harris, Belfast-based partner and head of HSF ALT, said: “I am delighted to share the news of senior promotions within Herbert Smith Freehills’ alternative legal services team across Belfast and London.”
She added: “Both Steph and Caoimhe will have a remit to work collaboratively to support our clients on contentious matters using market-leading technology to deliver legal services in new and future-focussed ways. In other words, doing what they do best for our clients!”
