Hogan Lovells recruits Bank of England legal chief Sinéad Meany
Hogan Lovells has appointed Sinéad Meany, former head of legal at the Bank of England, as a regulatory lawyer and head of thought leadership.
Ms Meany, who is dual-qualified in England and Wales and in Ireland, joins the firm’s financial institutions and insurance sector group in London and will also work with the firm’s relatively new Dublin office.

“As a former trusted legal advisor to Bank of England governors, government ministers, and the European Commission, Sinéad is incredibly well placed to help our clients to navigate the risks and opportunities arising from global regulatory change, digital transformation and ESG.”
Eoin O’Connor, managing partner of Hogan Lovells’ Dublin office, added: “Sinéad’s experience of cross-border supervision and regulation whilst at the UK Prudential Regulation Authority and her familiarity with EU law and processes, in particular the European Banking Authority and the Single Supervisory Mechanism of the ECB, will be hugely valuable to our clients operating in Ireland and cross-border throughout Europe.”
Lance Bultena, global director of thought leadership, based in Washington, D.C., said: “I am really pleased to welcome Sinéad. Her extensive regulatory background will help our team and clients prepare for the changing regulatory, technological and geopolitical horizons.”
