Holohan Law named Ireland’s best maritime law practice
Holohan Law has been named Ireland’s Maritime Law Firm of the Year by Corporate Insider.
Principal solicitor Bill Holohan, a member of the Irish Maritime Law Association’s executive committee, said he was delighted to receive the reward in recognition of his work in the area.
He told Irish Legal News: “As a 35 years veteran of the Irish Maritime Law industry I am delighted to be the recipient of this award.
“My interest in maritime matters was born in 1982 when in the absence of the late John Coakley, Cork Harbour Commissioners Law Agent, I was asked to give advice on issues arising from a collision of two ships in Cork Harbour. That led to a 1983 LLB Thesis in UCC on Limitation of Liability under the Merchants Shipping Acts 1894-1981.”
“After that, the rest is history,” he joked.
