#InPictures: Bar coffee morning raises awareness of male suicide
The Bar of Ireland marked International Men’s Day last week with a coffee morning raising funds for charity Pieta.
Organised by the Bar’s equality and resilience committee, the event sought to raise awareness of male suicide as well as men’s broader health and wellbeing.
“In recognition of the challenges that men face in life, the coffee morning will be held in aid of Pieta,” the Bar said.
Pieta offers free professional, clinical one-to-one counselling and 24/7 crisis support for people experiencing suicidal ideation and self-harm, and those who have been bereaved by suicide across its 20 centres and online. Around 80 per cent of Pieta’s income is received through fundraising and donations.
