#InPictures: Brooklyn court hosts Irish heritage celebration

One of New York City’s busiest courts has hosted a first-of-its-kind event to celebrate the Irish heritage of Brooklyn.

Kings County Family Court staged what it described as its inaugural Irish heritage celebration in the judge’s boardroom on 14 March 2025.

It was co-sponsored by the Kings Family Court Irish Heritage Committee and The Brehon Law Society of New York.

“The event paid homage to Irish roots in Brooklyn and throughout New York City,” organisers told Irish Legal News.

“We were honoured to have Michael G. Dowd as our keynote speaker, who discussed his career as a pioneering litigator in domestic violence litigation and how his Irish-American upbringing, morals, and values inspires his legal practice.”
