#InPictures: Children’s rights researchers gather in Cork

PhD students from across Europe and beyond recently descended on Cork to discuss, explore and develop research in the area of children’s rights.
The Children’s Rights Research Symposium was a collaboration between UCC School of Law and the Children’s Rights European Academic Network (CREAN).
Held at UCC over two days, the symposium hosted panel discussions on topics including children’s participation; children’s rights in education; roles and responsibilities in protecting children from violence; youth justice; and children and conflict.
This year’s event, the first since the start of the pandemic, focussed on the theme “children’s rights in the times of challenge/crisis”.
Adjunct Professor Gerison Lansdown of UCC School of Law opened the event by delivering a key-note speech on “Monitoring Children’s Participation”.
