#InPictures: Cork researcher takes part in ‘therapeutic justice’ event in Edinburgh
Jane Mulcahy, a PhD candidate at University College Cork (UCC), travelled to Edinburgh to hear two innovative US judges speak about “therapeutic justice”.
Judge Ginger Lerner-Wren spoke of pioneering America’s mental health courts, while Judge Victoria Pratt discussed her commitment to procedural justice - treating people with dignity and respect within the court process - as they ended a week-long visit to Scotland.
Ms Mulcahy is currently conducting PhD research on “Connected Corrections and Corrected Connections: Post-Release Supervision of Long Sentence Male Prisoners” with funding from the Irish Research Council (IRC).
Our sister publication, Scottish Legal News, published a full report of the event today.
