#InPictures: John Finucane addresses New York lawyers and judges

Lawyer and Sinn Féin MP John Finucane yesterday gave New York lawyers and judges an update on the campaign for truth and justice for his murdered father.

Pat Finucane, a well-known Belfast human rights lawyer who co-founded Madden & Finucane Solicitors, was murdered in his home in north Belfast on 12 February 1989 by loyalist paramilitaries who acted in collusion with UK security forces.

Following decades of campaigning, the UK government announced in September 2024 that it will establish an independent inquiry into the murder.

John Finucane was invited to speak at an event co-organised by the Brehon Law Society of New York and the New York City Bar Association, who have hosted him in the past.

He is pictured above with members of the Brehon Law Society and NYC Bar Association including John Feerick, Christopher Pioch, Jennifer Frankola-Crawford, Jonathan Moore, Judge Carol Sharpe, Sean Downes and Judge James Clynes.
