Irish-American lawyers come together to feed the community

The Brehon Law Society of New York and the Irish American Bar Association of New York (IABANY) teamed up yesterday to make over 300 sandwiches for a local community refrigerator.

The lawyers — a mix of Irish lawyers who have relocated to New York, as well as Americans of Irish heritage — plan to carry out similar acts of community service at least twice a year from now on.

Jennifer Frankola-Crawford, past president of the Brehons, and Darren Moore, new president of the IABANY, organised the event at the parish house of St Thomas More Roman Catholic Church on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

The local community refrigerator which accepted the donation of sandwiches supplies food to neighbours in need.
