Irish judge who sat on European and Kosovan courts to deliver King’s Inns lecture
An Irish judge who has held key positions on human rights courts internationally will address the launch of the eighth volume of the King’s Inn Law Review next week.
Judge Anne Power SC, who will jointly deliver the first annual King’s Inns Law Review lecture alongside Mr Justice Frank Clarke, the Chief Justice of Ireland, is currently presiding judge of the Specialist Chamber of the Constitutional Court in Kosovo.
The chamber deals with constitutional referrals relating to the judicial structures set up in the country in 2015 to deal with issues including crimes against humanity, war crimes and human trafficking.
Judge Power is also a former judge of the European Court of Human Rights and will reflect on the 15th anniversary of Ireland’s European Convention on Human Rights Act 2003 and the 65th anniversary of the ECHR in her speech.
The event will be chaired by Dr Alan D.P. Brady BL and will take place next Tuesday 12 February 2019, 6pm in the Benchers’ Room at the King’s Inns.
