Irish Legal News now on Bluesky – and who else?

Irish Legal News is now on Bluesky, the social media platform which has gained millions of new users in the past few days.

Many communications and PR professionals across the country are no doubt weighing up whether their law firm employers or clients should establish a presence on the platform.

Mason Hayes & Curran appears to be one of the earliest adopters, joining Bluesky last week and now sharing its firm announcements there.

Arthur Cox is the largest Irish law firm with a Bluesky profile — though seemingly has not yet begun posting. The firm is notably one of few on Threads, a similar platform from Meta.

None of the professional bodies for lawyers, north or south of the border, are so far on Bluesky. However, some law schools, like UCD Sutherland School of Law (and its Dean, Professor Laurent Pech), have joined.

There also appears to be a steady stream of international institutions joining the platform, with the European Commission already there and the Council of Europe creating an official account today.

Will your firm be joining Bluesky? Let us know on newsdesk@irishlegal.com.
