John Connellan joins Australian law firm Travis Schultz & Partners
Irish personal injury lawyer John Connellan has joined Australian law firm Travis Schultz & Partners (TSP) in Brisbane.
Mr Connellan brings over a decade of international experience from Ireland, where he worked in plaintiff litigation, specialising in high-value personal injury cases, including those related to road traffic accidents, public liability, sports injuries, medical negligence and workplace incidents.
He practised as a barrister and an accredited mediator in Ireland.
The firm said Mr Connellan would, among other things, offer a “familiar, compassionate and knowledgeable voice” for Irish expatriates and travellers injured in Australia.
Managing partner Travis Schultz said: “John’s specialised experience and dedication to securing just results for his clients align perfectly with TSP values.
“His appointment reflects our vision to build a team of highly qualified experts that also stand behind our pursuit of a values-driven approach to law.
“We are thrilled to have him join the team as we continue to strengthen our presence in Brisbane.”
Tim McClymont, partner at TSP, added: “John’s strengths in dispute resolution can make a substantial difference to the outcome of a case and save the cost and worry of an unnecessary trial.”
Mr Connellan’s expertise extends to various areas of sports law, including governance and compliance, and the liability of clubs and volunteers, and he holds a Law Society of Ireland diploma in sports law.
“John has a passion for sports and as a former intercounty Gaelic footballer in Ireland, he has a natural drive and competitive edge which ensures he gets the best outcome for his clients,” Mr McClymont said.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Connellan said: “I am honoured to be part of a firm that is renowned for its commitment to justice and community and well-being. TSP’s focus on putting clients first truly sets it apart in the legal community.
“The firm’s strategic stance on cases typically overlooked by others in the legal fraternity underlines the commitment to justice for all, not just the most profitable or straightforward cases.”
