Ulster University law lecturer, John Keers, has been appointed to the Northern Ireland Judicial Digitisation Steering Group.
The Lord Chief Justice, Sir Declan Morgan QC, has tasked the steering group with determining the judiciary’s requirements for digital transformation.
The group, headed by Mr Justice Horner, will develop a judicial strategy setting out what the judiciary expect from digitised courts which will be incorporated into the NICTS Digital Strategy, currently being drafted.
It will seek to examine the needs across all the various courts and tribunals in Northern Ireland. The ultimate aim will be to deliver modern, effective and innovative courts across the province.
