NI: Johnsons Solicitors present £400 cheque to Alzheimer’s Society
Belfast-based Johnsons Solicitors have presented a £400 cheque to the Alzheimer’s Society as part of the firm’s year-round fundraising.
Staff are invited to nominate a charity of their choice to benefit from the firm’s Dress Down Friday scheme every three months. Employees at every level of the firm then donate funds to the chosen charity on a Friday, with almost £3,000 having been raised in the past year alone.
Jacqueline Quinn, secretary at Johnsons Solicitors, nominated the Alzheimer’s Society as the firm’s latest charity recipient, following her mother’s experience with dementia. The charity supports people affected by dementia and helps keep people with dementia connected to their lives and the people who matter most.
Rhys Jones, partner at Johnsons Solicitors, said: “There are so many worthy causes in Northern Ireland and we are keen to support as many as possible through our fundraising programme.
“Often our staff have a personal connection to a specific charity that has supported them or their loved ones during difficult times. In this case, we were proud to select the Alzheimer’s Society following Jacqueline’s personal experience and her understanding of how dementia impacts upon an individual and their families.
“Testament to the generosity of the Johnsons team, our fundraising projects are always met with great enthusiasm, and have become a hugely positive element of our workplace culture.”
Other charities which have benefited from the firm’s fundraising include TinyLife, Macmillan Cancer Support and NI Children’s Hospice.
