Judge Siofra O’Leary to deliver NUI Galway annual lecture

Judge Síofra O’Leary of the European Court of Human Rights will deliver NUIG School of Law’s Annual Distinguished Lecture 2017.

Judge O’Leary’s lecture is titled “A Tale of Two Cities: the Protection of Fundamental Rights in Strasbourg and Luxembourg”.

The event takes place at 8pm on Friday 31 March in the Aula Maxima (Lower). It will be chaired by Ms Justice Iseult O’Malley of the Supreme Court and is open to NUIG law students and alumni.

Judge O’Leary was sworn in at the European Court of Human Rights in July 2015, having previously worked for 18 years at the Court of Justice of the European Union.
