NI: Judge Stephen Fowler appointed Recorder of Belfast
Judge Stephen Fowler QC has been appointed as Recorder of Belfast, the most senior County Court judge in Northern Ireland.
He succeeds Judge David McFarland QC, who has held the post since 2012 and was elevated to the High Court earlier this month.
Judge Fowler was called to the Bar in September 1984 and took silk in June 2006. He was appointed as a County Court judge in January 2011.
The Lord Chief Justice, Sir Declan Morgan, yesterday appointed Judge Fowler to his new post for a five-year term.
