Kerry solicitors gain expert advice on cybersecurity
More than 70 solicitors from across Kerry gained expert advice on protecting their practices from cyberattacks at an online conference organised by Law Society Finuas Skillnet in association with the Kerry Law Society.
The Essential General Practice Update Kerry 2021, the fifth in a series of online events taking place this year to support local solicitors to upskill while working remotely, also covered areas of law including litigation, probate and wills.
Tralee solicitor Pat Mann of Patrick Mann & Company, president of the Kerry Law Society, said: “A large number of solicitors in Kerry are sole practitioners or work in smaller firms.
“This means that we are business owners as well as legal advisors. We must stay up-to-date with the latest developments and be well organised when it comes to running our practices.
“Cybersecurity has long been a priority for Kerry solicitors. As the modern solicitor continues to embrace new technologies and move towards a more digital world, from virtual courts to online filing systems, we must ensure that we continue to invest in our cybersecurity processes.”
He added: “When we prepare against cybercrime and run our practices efficiently, we ensure that we can be there for our clients when they need us most.”
