Killian Flood BL joins Irish Legal News as case reporter
Barrister Killian Flood has become the latest addition to the Irish Legal News team, shortly after our leading legal publication marked its fifth anniversary.
Mr Flood will join Andrew McKeown BL in writing regular summaries of judgments from the Irish, Northern Ireland and European courts for the ILN newsletter and online case archive, which already contains nearly 1,300 cases.
Since launching in October 2015, ILN has become the legal profession’s go-to daily source for news, jobs and events. Our readership has grown at an even more remarkable pace since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, which underlined the value of our timely and trusted updates for legal professionals.
As well as having 7,100 daily email subscribers and around 75,000 monthly web users, our social media reach has grown to over 6,600 followers on Twitter and over 8,300 followers on our popular LinkedIn page.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Flood said: “I am very happy to become a contributor to Irish Legal News. With its wide reach and high standards of publication, ILN is one of the premier news sources for lawyers in the country.
“This role offers a great opportunity to increase accessibility to legal procedure and the court system by providing easily digestible reports on topical issues in litigation.
“I look forward to utilising my legal knowledge to provide useful and concise commentaries for ILN readers.”
Editor Connor Beaton added: “This has been a demanding year for Irish Legal News, but also a very rewarding one. We’ve achieved a lot in the past five years and I look forward to working with Killian, Andrew and the rest of the team to maintain this strong record in the months ahead.”
